The Department of Physics is dedicated to providing a variety of physics and
technical curricula for students who are interested in pursuing scientific and technical
professions. We have a vibrant community of graduate students working in cutting-edge
research fields spanning from fundamental physics to applied physics.
The Department was established in the year 1982, in the initial stage of the college, when there
were only Pre Degree courses. Prof. Jacob George was the first faculty and Head of the Department of
Physics. The UG course in Physics with vocational Electronics was started in the year 1998. The
physics department provides a quality scientific education to instill innovative, effective,
creative, and competitive spirit in every student.
Facilities
* Library : In addition to the well-equipped College Library, The Dept. of Physics is maintaining a department library of more than 500 standard reference books and text books for the students and faculty.
* Internet facilities for Staff and Students: The Department, classes and Labs are provided with Wi –Fi facility.
* Seminar hall with ICT facility.
* Laboratories: There is a model full-fledged electronic lab in addition to the well-equipped and well maintained physics lab in the Department.
